Thermal Spraying of Tungsten Carbide for Corrugating Rollers in Papermaking
Case Details

Corrugating rollers are core components of corrugated board production lines, and their operation involves continuous wear. The wear resistance and service life of these rollers are key technical indicators for measuring their quality and economic viability.

Solution: For the thermal spraying of corrugating rollers, we primarily use WC-12Co and WC-10Co-4Cr series powders. These powders feature uniform composition, concentrated particle size distribution, stable bulk density, and high sphericity.

Using thermal spraying technology, a WC-based coating structure is formed on the surface of the corrugating rollers. This process results in coatings with high hardness, wear resistance, low porosity, and low surface roughness. These enhancements significantly improve the working life of the corrugating rollers, reduce surface treatment costs, and offer economic benefits. Consequently, the service life of the rollers can be extended to 3-6 times that of chrome plating.
